Meet your nurse or GP
You'll be seen by an experienced nurse or GP in a private consultation room. They'll talk you through the testing process, answer any questions, and discuss your symptoms or concerns confidentially — there's no judgement, just clear, supportive care.
Small finger-prick blood sample or swab
Depending on the tests you need, this will involve either a quick finger-prick blood sample or a simple swab. Both are quick and minimally uncomfortable, and your clinician will explain exactly what to expect before starting.
Relax while your sample is processed
Once your sample is taken, you're free to relax in our waiting area while it's processed on-site.
Receive confidential results in around 20 minutes
Most results are available in around 20 minutes, so you won't be left waiting anxiously for days. Your results are shared with you privately and confidentially.
Treatment or referral if required
If treatment is needed, this can often be started the same day. If further tests or specialist care are required, we'll arrange a referral, which can also be sent the same day and guide you through the next steps. Treatment can be paid for at the clinic.

What are the symptoms? How do I know if I have an STD?
The only way to know for sure is to have a test and get the results from our lab. Many STD's either have no symptoms at all or have very common symptoms, which can be easily confused with other diseases
Can I get treatment for STDs and STIs?
Yes, you can also get treatment from Pall Mall Medical from our onsite Private GP Service, and in some cases, we can even provide you with the medication, saving you further trips to the pharmacy
Are my results confidential?
Yes. The results and your booking details are known only to the clinic and yourself. Your testing, prescription and medication requests are 100% confidential and will not be stored or shared anywhere outside of Pall Mall Medical.
How quickly will I receive my rapid STI test results?
Many of our rapid STI tests provide results in as little as 20 minutes, allowing you to receive answers during your appointment. Some laboratory-based STI tests require longer, depending on the infection being tested.

How accurate are rapid STI tests?

How soon after unprotected sex can I have a rapid STI test?
The timing depends on the infection:
Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea – from around 14 days
Syphilis – around 14 days
HIV – around 45 days for most rapid antibody tests
Hepatitis B – approximately 28 days
Hepatitis C – approximately 12 days
