Head / neck
- Major blood vessel abnormalities
- Evidence of intra cranial pathology or aneurysms
- Cerebral infarctions or haemorrhage
- Integrity and patency of carotid arteries
- Tumours, lesions or vascular malformations.
Abdomen
- Large tumours in the liver, kidneys, pancreas, and gall bladder
- Significant liver structural disease (for example large cysts or masses)
- Adrenal tumours

- Breast cancer, Breast implant complications
- Bowel / digestive Bowel cancer or bowel polyps (requiring a colonoscopy, virtual colonoscopy or ColoAlert), Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis), Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Small bowel disease, Hernias
- Prostate cancer (requires a blood test or Multi-Parametric Prostate MRI scan)

You will receive a full report that explains the findings in detail

How long until I get my results?
Following the MRI scan, your radiologist will review the images and create a report which will then be reviewed by one of our Pall Mall GP’s, who will discuss the results with you.
We aim to process all reports within no more than 14 working days but sometimes may take longer. Please don’t worry if your results take longer than 14 days to be delivered; this does not automatically mean that there’s anything concerning showing up in your results.
When your results are ready, you will receive a full report that explains the findings in detail. If any follow up appointments or tests are needed, they will be detailed in the report. Should I be worried if I need an MRI?
A doctor or consultant usually recommends an MRI if they want to take a closer look at certain areas of your body. We understand that this can cause some anxiety, but it is usually thought to be for the greater good in the long run so should not be anything to worry about.
How long does a full body MRI scan take?
A full body scan can take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours. You will be informed of how long your scan will take when booking your appointment and which scan package you opt for.
Can anyone have a full body MRI?
Yes, anyone can choose to have a preventative health screeening. However it may not be recommended for certain people who have:
A cochlear implant
Any metal in your body (like a pacemaker)
Experienced allergic reactions to similar procedures previously
Kidney problems
Pregnant or breastfeeding
How long do I have to wait for my Full body MRI results?
Here at Pall Mall, we aim to process our reports within 1o working days. However, sometimes operational processes can delay this. Please do not worry, if there are any delays, It does not automatically mean something is wrong with your results.
Is an MRI safe?
Substantial research has been undertaken as to whether the magnetic properties and radio signals during an MRI used can cause issues to the human body. No evidence has been found to indicate there is a risk. Additionally, MRI is a non-invasive procedure, making it one of the safest options available.
Can I get additional areas of the body scanned?
Yes. If you would like to get tests for other areas of the body that aren't included, please mention this to your specialist at one of your consultations.
