What is arm lift surgery?
Arm lift surgery, also known as a ‘brachioplasty’, involves removing excess or loose skin and/or fat from the upper arms in order to tone and improve their appearance. Women in particular tend to suffer from what’s commonly referred to as ‘bingo wings’ where the upper arms store excessive fat and appear disproportionately large to the rest of the figure.
We understand that feeling self conscious about your arms can hold you back from enjoying certain aspects of your life and while exercise can strengthen and improve muscle tone in the upper arm, it can’t address excess skin that has lost its elasticity and still appears soft and out of shape. If the undersides of your upper arms are sagging due to ageing or significant weight loss, you could benefit from arm lift surgery. Our expert surgeons can talk to you in detail about what this procedure entails during a free of charge consultation at one of our clinics in Manchester, Liverpool or Newton-Le-Willows.

What happens during arm lift surgery?
Consultation
Pall Mall will invite you to come into one of our clinics so that we can look at your arms and have an honest discussion about why you want surgery and the results you can expect from the operation. This consultation will last 25-40 minutes and please remember that this is an opportunity for you to ask as many questions as you want and resolve any concerns about the procedure. Our staff are always happy and willing to support you in any way.
Pre-Operation
Part of the preparation for your Brachioplasty operation will involve you coming into the surgery so that you can undertake some early tests for MRSA. There could also be some blood/urine checks.
Additionally, we’d want to get medical records of your arm lift and therefore we will take pictures of them prior to surgery. After this, you’ll be given time with the nurse to speak about surgery expectations, side effects or even just how to prepare on the day of the surgery.
Surgery
Once the big day arrives, you will arrive at the hospital and be immediately greeted by one of our excellent nurses who will show you to your room. The surgeon will be present for your final consent and your last queries before we get started with the procedure.
You’ll then be taken to the theatre and put under general anaesthetic where the surgeon will create a incision under your arms to start the arm lift. The whole process can take between one hour and three hours.
Post-Surgery
Having had a 1 to three-hour procedure, you can expect to be anxious about the results and progress however Pall Mall will be there for you throughout. We will invite you to come back to the clinic post-op so we can analyse the results at 1, 2 and 6 weeks. at this time we will take Pictures will again to be able show the transformation of your operation.
